Ive been loving working on my pinup book. Each piece I finish has got some great treasures in store. I'm looking forward to displaying all the girls for my book release. Have a peek at my pinup girl known as the Arc Angel Gabriella, the messenger of what is to come!!

Javiers Long Lasting Nickname

Javier was given the nickname "Pumpkin" at a young age. As we all did at a young age, he lost a lot of his teeth making him look like a jack o lantern, he said his pops started calling him pumpkin and since then it stuck. When he brought the concept to me I was excited to pull off this piece for him. We are looking forward to adding onto his sleeve so look out for some more creepy work for my boy Javier!!

Miss. Mia's Joker Girl

This was such a fun time tattooing my friend Mia Valerio. We had the chance to meet up at OG Risks art studio and do her tattoo. Set up and ready to roll she chose to tattoo the top of her foot with my joker girl know as ...sshhhhh!!! Check out her custom ink!!!

Woody's Pin-Up

This piece I would have to say was one of the most memorable tattoos Ive done yet. My brother Jerry also known as Woody visited with me and the family at my moms lake for July 4th. When I have the chance to visit with my brothers I love to tattoo them. My brother Woody is a gem in my life. He spent most of his life as an army man, a lover of his Harley, his brothers, the ladies, and his family. When I had the chance to tattoo him I wanted to tattoo him with one of my pin-up girls, customized to fit him and his personality. To me the tattoo is my mark that will always be with him everyday when he looks down..there I will be. So very honored to do this tattoo for my brother Woody!!

Silvia's Soldier Girl

Working on this highly detailed Soldier Girl with Silvia was really a pleasure. When she first came to me and wanted a small piece on her ankle we started with a small rose and thorns. When we finished the rose she returned to add onto her piece. Silvia wanted a modern day soldier girl because like herself she is connected to her heritage but the image of the Mexican female has evolved. The Mexican female is well kept, strong, stylish and a lover of her culture.
I particularly love to do pieces like these because it gives me the opportinity to bring a new face to the modern day woman. I was honored to do this piece for her!! Look out for more...Miss. Silvia wants to rock a pair of my custom high heels ;)

Starting My 1st Pinup BOOK

So Im very excited about my next project! Ive been thinking about creating my own book for a very long time. Finally with enough artwork started and the support from fellow artists pushin me to create an amazing book Im on it! The book will be based on my pinup girls. I have several ideas as to how the books themes will roll into a full eye candy show. Starting the book off will be a full spectrum of my favorite Angels!! Im looking to have the book finished for this Christmas so look out for some more funn artwork!

Seeley's INK

Calvin Seeley is a United States Marine. Tonight he ships out to Afghanistan for an expected seven months. Ive been working with Seeley on his back piece and then later his sleeve for almost a year. He first came to me completely un-tatted, and a silent guy, not much for the ink life. As he continued to come into the tattoo shop with his buddies I was tattooing, he became more open to the idea of getting tattooed himself.

Our first sitting we started his back-piece which I drew on him with a sharpie and some pens. He was a pretty quiet marine and we talked a little about his back-piece being related to the memory of his father, James Nelson Seeley. Cal lost his pops while in the service, and was not able to leave his duties as a marine to be with his father during his passing. He left home to join the military at the age of seventeen. The open winged sparrows represent the spirit being taken to heaven. The sparrows carry the name of his father. I feel that Seeley and I were able to bond because we both lost our fathers. Often I give my friends and clients bits of my gathered strength when dealing with the loss of a loved one or the courage to push forward and reach for your dreams. These shared feelings I feel are the gifts we give each other, small words of encouragement can change a persons life especially if they carry these moments with them on their skin.

Once finishing Seeleys back-piece he decided he wanted to get a half sleeve with a pirate style theme. Global Maps to see the world, a lantern to light his way through dark times, a compass to guide him, a pinup as his partner in crime, and a ship which represent him and his fathers freedom! It was great working with Seeley because he always had the greatest confidence in all of my ideas and my abilities. As expected our sittings weren't as quiet and solemn as our first, and through the past year he has become a really great friend of mine. Seeley will be missed as he heads to Afghanistan to fight a war that no one knows why it continues. God bless him and pray he returns a better man than the one that has left us.

Momma's Angels

This piece I created for a Marine;'s wife. Her name is Jessica and she came up with the concept to have her sons foot prints hidden within angel wings. The foot print on the left is her son Lucas and the foot print on the right is her son Luis. I really liked the idea and was excited to create a unique way of incorporating the angel wings and baby foot print concept togethr. So here it is ...check it out!!

Rebuilding My Mickey Sharpz Micro-Dial

A challenge!! I love them!! Learning the art of tooning your tattoo machine is definitely something not all tattoo artists perfect in their career! For me I finally feel very confident to say I can take my machine fully apart, guts and all, and rebuild that bad girl back to life and running smoother clearer and stronger than ever!! So I'll share with you my experience because it was pretty bad ass and I learned some new things I loved!!

My Mickey Sharpz is a special machine to me considering it is a legendary piece of equipment that 99.9% of the greats own!! The day some guy walked into the tattoo shop selling a grip of tattoo gear trying to raise up enough money for his new wheels to get him down to San Diego...I SCORED!! My teacher, Franco said "If you dont buy that machine, I will! Here's $75! Ill pay for half of it!" So I did and luckily now own my first Mickey Sharpz Micro Dial, one of the best liner machines you can buy, and I scooped on it for the bargain price of $150 bucks!! YEA!!

Ok Ok!! So I started lining with this machine, I loved its strength and solid lines! Eventually it started running hot, really hot!! So I decided it was time to rebuild my Mickey! I ordered from Mickey Sharpz U.S.A. all the parts I would need!! I bought myself new coils 8 wrap, a bits bag, and a spring replacement armature bar tool kit! Once my gear arrived in the mail I took my machine apart completely! Washed the frame with soap and water, then stripped it with Tar-Nex! After it was fully stripped I took it to the polishing wheel and finished it off by polishing down all surfaces leaving my frame raw metal and looking brand new.

The fun starts now! I arrive into the shop with the help and guidance of my knuckle heads Robby Dobb and Murdock! They said "Girl go to Home Depot and buy yourself a torch and 3 in 1 oil." ( ok lil joke....the night before I couldn't buy a book of matches from the liquor store without my ID...but that day I bought a torch from Home Depot....NOO probolem!!) So Robby Dob shows me how to torch my frame then drop it in the 3 in 1 oil! This process puts a protective hardened layer over the frame. This process helps keep the electric current stronger and solid within the frame, it also helps to keep the frame clean and easier to sterilize. Changing the raw metal finish to a burnt rainbow. I repeated this process then allowed the frame to cool for 45 minutes.

Now the rebuild can begin! Starting with my new coils! Lining everything up to the perfect distance is the most important part of rebuilding a machine. Correct distance and gaps are your differences between a shader and a liner, the differences between a machine that stops dead and a machine that's heart beats strong and solid! I have been gifted to take the teachings from well experienced tattoo artists that I work with at the Orange County InkHouse. Every artist has a preference to how they toon or build their machines. It is up to you as an individual to learn from a qualified tattooer. Point is....WARNING!! Don't try this at home!! It's a craft to be respected and handed down from one skilled artists to another!!
